Elaine Chu
This will be Elaine's second year at Orinda Academy. Previously, she has taught in Kensington and in San Francisco. This year Elaine is excited to be teaching Geography, Modern World History, U.S. History, and Women's Literature. Elaine has a B.A. in History from UC Berkeley and a social studies single subject credential from San Francisco State. In 2005, she was granted a travel grant to London in order to conduct extensive archival research on nineteenth century women's labor. In her spare time, Elaine enjoys running, soccer, film, and theater. Having grown up in the rural Midwest, she also has a love of nature and outdoor recreation.
