Annual Fund

As an independent school, Orinda Academy relies on
more than tuition to provide the best quality learning
environment for our students.  Our tuition covers
approximately 88% of the School’s operating expenses,
which total over 2.5 million dollars per year.  While we
make every effort to keep our tuition affordable to an able
and varied student population, it is imperative that we
rely on the generosity of our community to ensure that
each student continues to benefit from our program.  Our
Annual Fund is the one fundraising program that we
depend on to help balance the operating budget.

The Annual Fund makes it possible for us to maintain
our low student to teacher ratio, while enhancing our
curriculum and supporting special programs like athletics,
arts, technology, and more.  It also helps sustain our learning
support services with a learning specialist, counselor, and
increased advisory.  Supporting faculty with professional
development opportunities such as workshops, training,
and conferences, our students benefit with new innovations
implemented to improve our programs.  The Annual Fund
also helps to maintain and improve the infrastructure and
facilities at Orinda Academy.

Last year the Annual Fund only raised $30,000 towards
our goal of $50,000.  It is time the Orinda Academy
community steps up to equal fundraising at other similar
independent schools and reach our goal of $50,000 for this
year to enhance the quality of the excellent and unique
learning environment we provide.  It is critical, now, more
than ever, during difficult economic times, to sustain our
financially sound non-profit school into the future through
an increased endowment and improved fundraising.
