Boys Basketball Wins 3 More!

Our boys basketball team has continued its winning ways in 2009 with three consecutive victories. We began with a 54-39 win at Napa Christian despite being down 17-3 at the end of the first quarter. We took a two-point lead finishing the half on an 18-2 run and then put the game away with an 18-1 third quarter.  Brandon led the way with 20 points and his usual "beastly" rebounding.  Aubrey's defense and fast-break baskets, many off of some fine passes by Chris Scott, sparked the comeback. He ended with a career-high 16 points. Our next game was an intense battle at Pleasant Hill Christian. We played some of our best man-to-man defense and held on for a 16-54 win. Brandon scored 21 points and David 20 to lead the way. Then we returned home to defeat Archbishop Hanna High School by a score of 56-44. Led again by David (19 points and 12 rebounds) and Brandon (17 and 16), Orinda Academy ups its record to 12 wins and 3 losses. The "Twin Towers" had great support with Aubrey adding 12 points and 5 steals, Dylan 7 points, and Chris 6 points and 5 steals. Already surpassing last year's win total with at least 10 more games to go, our boys play an important league contest versus Candell Prep in Oakland today and then return home on Tuesday, January 20th for another game against Pleasant Hill Christian School.
