At a time when young people are experiencing unprecedented mental health challenges, we are pleased to offer a virtual speaker series featuring educators and psychology professionals who can share their expertise in teen support with the community.
Attendance is free.
All talks will be live-streamed via Zoom with time for questions and answers, and a recording of each presentation will be made available to all registrants.
This parent-focused presentation will explore how recreational screen use affects your child’s brain, behavior, and development. We will cover the psychological and neurological mechanisms that make digital media so habit-forming, how excessive screen use can mimic or worsen mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, and the potential impacts on sleep, academic performance, and social development.
Parents will learn how to recognize the signs of screen dependency, understand what constitutes a healthy “tech diet,” and gain practical strategies to set boundaries at home. Evidence-based recommendations, including screen detox approaches and when to seek professional help, will also be shared.
This session is led by licensed psychologists, James Bylund, PsyD, LEP and Danielle Morales, MA/CAS, LEP of The Bylund Clinic. For more information about our clinic, visit www.thebylundclinic.com.
