OA Artists – Contest Gallery is Live!
Three Orinda Academy artists have entered pieces in the Lamorinda Arts Council Visual Arts Competition, and their art is being displayed in the virtual gallery which you can view HERE. Teah (’21) is in the 2D gallery and Luke and Kyle (’23) are in the photography gallery (follow the links for the separate galleries). We are so proud of all three of you for showcasing your talent for the world to see!
All-School Meeting – Attend to Win
For the month of March, anyone with perfect attendance at All-School Meeting will be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes. You could win gift cards, candy, or even a person singing to you, according to Simon! See you at ASM – be there and be a winner!
Conferences – March 15 and 16
Please mark your calendars for 2nd semester parent-teacher-student conferences on Monday and Tuesday, March 15 and 16. You will meet with each teacher in the same virtual format that we used last semester, with 10-minute time slots available for scheduling via Google Calendar. An email with scheduling information was sent this afternoon to parents of all students. Please check spam and junk mail folders as sometimes bulk emails are filtered this way. If you did not receive this communication, please email Laura Turnbull.
Creative Writing Contest for High School Students
The Friends of the Orinda Library have announced their annual creative writing contest for high school students. Our very own Matthew M. was an honorable mention winner last year in the poetry category. There are cash prizes for winners in each category. The deadline to enter is April 16 (the Friday during spring break). You can enter once in up to three of the four categories: poetry, science fiction/fantasy, biography/memoir/nonfiction, and short story. Details and entry forms can be found HERE; any questions about the contest email Katherine.
Seniors – Cap and Gown Photos and Senior Pages
Seniors, please arrange to have your cap and gown photo taken if you haven’t already. Janet can take it at school, or we can arrange for you to do it at home, but our deadline is NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH 12 – so please comb your hair and smile soon! Also, Therese is coordinating your senior pages for the yearbook – please respond to her emails and send her your page content ASAP.
OA’s Got Talent – NEW DATE – April 2
Here’s your chance to become OA-famous – send a video of you being talented to Molly Smart who will create a video talent show for us all to watch together on Friday, April 2. Please send your video to Molly by Wednesday, March 31 to give her time to put it all together. Sing, dance, recite poetry…you do you! Our talent shows are tons of fun and you don’t want to miss it.
