Orinda Academy received a grant of computer equipment from a Bay Area tech company to support creativity in the arts and design. Huge thanks to parent Cari Borja (Royal, ’21) for nominating us for the grant. The equipment comes with maximum specifications for processing speeds and memory that will allow our students to fully explore the capabilities within Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and Procreate for art and graphic design, yearbook production, and multiple music production applications. Here are some projects from Simon, Solomon, and Finn for Photo 1 class using both restoration and colorization techniques.Big Data Boot Camp
Big Data at Berkeley is a student-run organization at UC Berkeley that provides an introductory data science boot camp to high schoolers every semester. They are hosting a free, fully remote 8-week boot camp every Saturday starting on October 3. If any OA students are interested or need help with the application, email Megan. Information about the program can be found on the Big Data website. For your convenience, we’re including here links to the application and syllabus of the program.Writing and Visual Art Contests
