If Your Child Isn’t Doing Well in School, You Don’t Have to Wait for the Beginning of Next Year to Enroll in Orinda Academy

Enroll at Orinda Academy

If your child is struggling in school, time is of the essence. An entire school year is too long to wait for a solution—a lost year of education is irreplaceable. At Orinda Academy, our doors are open all year, thanks to our rolling admissions process. Are you interested in transferring your student to Orinda Academy? Here is what you need to know about our private school’s admissions process:

Shadow Visits

Every student who is interested in attending Orinda Academy must complete a shadow visit. During this visit, students and their families will get an inside look at life at Orinda Academy, from our classes to our social activities. This is your opportunity to decide if our school is right for your child. The shadow visit must be completed before an application is submitted, and our team will usually conduct a student interview during the visit. Visits can be scheduled through our admissions team. We offer them from October through May. In addition to shadow visits, we recommend that families attend one of the open house events we have throughout the year.

Prospective students must submit two applications. One is a general application and another is a student application. The student application includes a personal statement from the student. Applications also include recommendation forms for your child’s current teachers and principal to complete. Recommendation requirements vary depending on grade level. Be sure to follow the directions on the application that apply to your child.

Transcripts and Testing

Prospective students must take the Independent School Entrance Exam as part of the admissions process for our college prep school. Our admissions team can help you find a date and testing location in East Bay. You must also authorize the release of your child’s transcripts from his or her current school.

At Orinda Academy, we can spark a love of learning where perhaps there wasn’t one before. Our college prep curriculum is challenging and engaging, and we work collaboratively with parents to help children reach their potential.
