On January 28, OA hosted a half-day information session on community college. A mix of sophomores, juniors, and seniors attended and met representatives from Merritt College. They provided a broad introduction to what junior colleges offer:

• Variety of degrees - AA, certificate, and trade programs with examples of each
• The enrollment process and timelines
• The transfer process to both private and public colleges (in California)
• Details on the requirements/differences between the two main transfer programs, and which UC schools participate

We also talked about taking community college classes while still at OA and the difference between AP College credits and junior college credits. We wrapped things up with a great lunch and the chance to respond to questions in detail.
