Our first annual student activities raffle came to a close last Friday as we drew the winning raffle numbers and awarded prizes to our top fundraisers.
Our raffle brought in $1,052 in just three weeks, and student council will be meeting soon to decide how the money will be spent for student activities this year.
Top student fundraisers were:
1 – Joseph Whipple (10th)
2 – Spencer Baum (9th)
3 – Steven DeGalan (10th)
The top fundraising class was the sophomore class, who earned an ice cream party for their fundraising efforts.
Seven students earned community service hours for selling 20 or more tickets—in addition to Joseph, Spencer, and Steven, also earning community service hours were Caroline Yao, Charlie Cottril, and Krystal Ding.
Thanks to three of our staff members who offered personal sacrifices as fundraising incentives. The students reached the $1,000 challenge by music teacher Molly Smart, who will take a whipped cream pie to the face at a time to be determined (soon!). Jeff and Ron’s facial hair is safe for another year, but we’ll be back with another raffle next year, so beware!
Huge thanks to Kathie Hackler and Bill Greif for donating raffle prizes, Lynn Barr and Bill Campbell for funding incentive prizes and raffle expenses, Mary Leon and Karen DeGalan for donating incentive prizes, and to Laurel, Lisa, and Macy for the extra work they put in to make raffle sales and money collection go smoothly.
