Ways You Can Keep Your Kids Learning in the Summer

The summer “brain drain” is no myth; studies suggest that kids can lose as much as two and a half years of math skills in just one summer. It can be challenging to encourage your children to practice math skills over the summer, but by turning a lesson plan into a game, your children are more apt to enjoy it. For example, older children can measure their rooms and furniture and create a bedroom blueprint.

For more fun ideas on math activities during the summer, watch this video. You’ll hear from a former math and science teacher about some of the educational products she has helped develop, including interactive flashcards.

Give your child a head start in life by enrolling them in a college prep school. Call Orinda Academy of East Bay at (877) 884-0221 or visit us on the Web to learn more about our private school.

Please join us at 1pm on Zoom for an informational Open House. You will hear from our Head of School, Student Success Team, current parents and students, and have the opportunity to ask questions about what makes OA so special!
