What International Students Need to Know about Orinda Academy

Female student studying

Orinda Academy welcomes international students to our East Bay college prep school. Our admissions department is happy to walk interested international students through the application and enrollment process. We offer a variety of programs to help international students succeed both academically and socially.

To get started, we require student and parent applications with photos, teacher recommendations, and translated transcripts. We also conduct Skype interviews with potential students and require TOEFL scores. Once a student has been accepted and an I-20 has been issued, that student will have access to all of our services. Each student has an advisor he meets with twice per week to help him settle into our program. For international students, Orinda Academy provides a sheltered English/Literature class. In this class, a qualified staff member presides over the assignments and coursework of ESL students. In addition to our regular college prep classes, students have access to ESL programs to help them improve their English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
