Orinda Academy is dedicated to partnering with students, their families, and teachers to develop an open and trusting academic community.

Hear what some of our families have to say:

  • For years I tried desperately to work with our school district to help my child reach the potential I knew was there. T.’s problem was not behavioral. T. was not disruptive. Instead, T. was ignored and neglected, and T.’s social skills withered away even before COVID started.

We were hopeful that an in-person high school could bring much needed change, but it was more of the same, this time complicated by questions around gender identity and relentless bullying.

  • The school’s “small by design” approach, with an intimate environment that meets students where they are, has provided Jack with the support he needed to build himself back up after a rough stretch through middle school, and to challenge himself to stretch outside his comfort zone.

We can’t express how grateful we are for all that Orinda Academy has done for Jack and our family, and encourage others to support Orinda Academy in their efforts to continue to provide the educational resources that so many kids need.

  • Our daughter went to a fabulous elementary school in OUSD that our other daughter sailed through a few years before A. did. We thought it would be good enough for A. as well. But, as we all know, just because one child does well at a place, it doesn’t mean the other will!

As it was, she was repeatedly bullied since 2nd grade. She never had any friends, and it made her think that she was a horrible, unlikable person and student.
